Abstract
The characteristic features of self-organized metal surface patterns on corrugated polymer layers in regards to wave interactions in buckling were investigated. The square law relationship involving corrugation wave number and intrinsic wave number of bilayer was used to determine wave number of surface pattern. The phase shift between wave on ridge and groove was found to relate to an uncertainty in corrugation wave number. The results show that free energy minimization was connected to two waves and fidelity of metal surface pattern.
