Three-dimensional self-assembly of colloids at a water-air interface: A novel technique for the fabrication of photonic bandgap crystals

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Three-dimensional structures of colloidal particles were assembled on a water surface. The ordered structure was obtained by evaporating the solvent at elevated temperature, and the resulting crystal was transferred onto a planar substrate by simple sedimentation.
