Temporal division method for improving off-axis image quality of VA LCDs

Abstract

A type of vertical alignment (VA) LCD shows a decrease in off-axis image quality. Although it has been improved using super patterned VA (S-PVA), its aperture ratio decreases. This letters reports the application of temporal division method (TDM) which is introduced to improve both off-axis image quality and the aperture ratio.
