Suppressing the Growth of Dendrites On Ultrathin Lithium Metal Anodes by an Amide Electrolyte Additive

Abstract

Highlights The addition of NDT alters the solvation structure of the electrolyte. NDT is preferentially reduced over solvents due to its lower LUMO energy level. An uniform SEI layer containing Li3N is formed, inhibiting the dendrite growth. NDT additive improves the performance of LillLFP batteries with ultrathin Li anodes.
