Abstract

New oxides Sr2MRhO6(M=Nb, Ta) with Rh(III) in octahedral site of the perovskite lattice have been prepared. Structural and magnetic characterizations suggest that Rh(III) is stabilized with the low-spin state (t2g 6eg 0).
