Abstract
Sonochemical decomposition of molybdenum and tungsten carbonyls in the presence of carbon nanotubes followed by heat treatments under various conditions produced nanocomposites of oxides and carbides on carbon nanotube supports; the synthesis of tungsten carbide nanoparticles is unprecedented.
