Abstract

The fabrication of a highly sensitive and fast glucose biosensor by immobilizing glucose oxidase (GOx) in mesocellular carbon foam was investigated. A MSU-F silica template was used to synthesis MSU-F-C, preserving the large cellular pores derived from the template. The MSU-F-C enabled a high enzyme loading without serious mass-transfer limitations, resulting in a high catalytic efficiency. The glucose biosensor fabricated with MSU-F-C/GOx showed high sensitivity and fast response.
