Abstract

An absolutely straightforward study is presented to characterize the space-charge limited region in a planar diode with non-zero uniform initial velocity which brings about Liu's result. Unlike Liu's work, our approach is free of mathematical intricacies. In addition to its great simplicity, the presented method gives a good physical insight about the problem.
