Relationship between the chemical nature of silanes and device performance of polymer light emitting diodes

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The influence of a silane layer on the performances of polymer light emitting diodes has been studied. Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane, methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane, and tridecafluoro-1,1,2,2-tetrahydrooctyl-1-triethoxysilane(FTS) were used as surface modifiers for indium tin oxide(ITO) substrates and the performances of the silanes were compared. The hydrophobic silane material such as FTS was better than other silanes for efficient hole injection from ITO to aromatic amine hole transport layer.
