Abstract

This paper describes a recent progress on standard development of robot map specifications. Those specifications include robot map data representation, map data exchange scheme, and robot map structure. Currently, the activities for developing map data representation are supported by IEEE RAS (Robotics & Automation Society). A working group for robot map data representation is supposed to be established at November 2011, where activities related to developing a robot map standard will be officially carried out.
