Abstract

In this paper, we introduce a fabrication process for a high resolution color reflective film using a reactive mesogen (RM) mixture. The RM is a photopolymerizable monomer applicable for various optical films. First, an RM with a nematic phase and a chiral nematic phase were mixed in the appropriate concentration ratio to control the chiral pitch of the cholesteric phase. Photoluminescent (PL) dyes were doped into the RM mixture to improve reflectance by energy conversion. In this paper, we demonstrate the fabrication process of the photoluminescence dye doped cholesteric liquid crystal (PLCLC) layers with micro-sized patterns, and their optical properties are discussed.
