Abstract
The optimisation of a meander-line twist reflector is performed using comprehensive learning particle swarm optimisation for the broadband design of a Ku-band twist reflector. Based on a transmission-line model, the polarisation twist performance was evaluated, and an optimised, broadband twist reflector was fabricated and tested. The measured bandwidth at 20dB of cross-polarisation suppression is 14.0-17.8GHz. The measured polarisation twist loss was below 0.32dB. Comparisons between computed and measured results were in good agreement.
