Abstract

This paper was performed to develop sensor for measuring radon aerosols in real-time. Our experimental results show the feasibility to use solid state nuclear track detectors and optical fiber for radioactive aerosols. Proposed method is simple and safe with remote measurement is feasibility for measuring the radioactive aerosols in real-time. Relationship can be established between concentration of radioactive particle and radiation by using optical particle counter. The sensor setup conditions will be optimized, which enables to achieve excellent sensitivity at low concentration of radioactive aerosols. Hence, the proposed sensor can be used at the building constructions sites for online measurements of radioactivity.
