Abstract
A linearization method for an active balanced m xer is proposed and demonstrated. It is based on feed-forwarding of the low frequency 2 nd-order ntermodulation component at the gate to the translinear part of active balanced mixer. Several design insights are given for the linearization technique. A proposed circuit methodology is verified by a two-tone test with a 15-dB improvement of IMD3 (third-order intermodulation distortion).
