Abstract

An amorphous Fe73.5Si13.5B9Cu 1Nb3 alloy was crystallized under nitriding atmosphere of mixture gas of ammonia and hydrogen during thermochemical treatment. The crystallized alloy at 823K exhibited the high electrical resistivity ranging from 494.25 to 537.90μΩ-cm, which was higher than that of nano-crystalline FeSiBCuNb alloy with a resistivity of about 113μΩ-cm. Through the nitration treatments, the amorphous alloy was transformed into nano-sized Fe3Si crystals including iron nitrides such as γ'-Fe4N phases. The formation of γ'-Fe4N phase resulted in an increase of the resistivity, provided stable permeability and a low core loss at high frequency ranges.
