Abstract

Current research on green hydrogen mainly focuses on water electrolysis. However, the low commercial utility of oxygen hinders the reduction of hydrogen production costs. Herein, we report a bifunctional Mn-SnO2@Fe3O4 catalyst for simultaneous hydrogen production and water disinfection. Under an external magnetic field, the system triggers a cascade reaction, converting in situ generated H2O2 into ˙OH radicals via a Fenton-like reaction. This synergy achieved 99.9% antibacterial efficacy against Escherichia coli at 2.6 V vs. RHE.
