Abstract
This chapter discusses why internet of things (IoT) is needed and how to use IoT for Metaverse services, followed by a proposed hierarchical game-theoretic approach. The Metaverse allows more futuristic application scenarios to be studied, e.g. fusion of digital twins (DTs) across firms or industries due to the Metaverse's interoperability as well as considering the DTs with nonfungible tokens. Mobile crowdsensing development depends to a large extent on wide-spread IoT and advanced communication technologies, which allow for a large number of connected devices available at the network edge. The chapter considers two types of decision-making sequences among virtual service providers: simultaneous decision and sequential decision-making. It helps the researchers to apply dynamic games in addressing the resource allocation problem in an IoT-assisted Metaverse synchronization. The chapter provides future challenges and research issues for deploying IoTs in Metaverse services.
