N2 - In this paper, a pulse density modulation (PDM) control for a semi-bridgeless rectifier in inductive power transfer (IPT) systems is proposed. The proposed PDM control can implement soft switching and continuous output voltage control using simple algorithm without additional hardware. In order to analyze the proposed method, the voltage gain of the semi-bridgeless rectifier with the proposed method is derived mathematically, and the performance of the proposed method is compared with the conventional control methods. Additionally, the result of the comparison is verified through simulation and experimental results.
