Abstract
A novel method to enhance the (Ba2-xSrx)SiO 4 phosphors used for white LEDs was developed by using Eu 2O3@B2O3 core-shells as an activator. This phosphor using Eu2O3@B2O 3 core-shell showed twice as emission intensity as phosphor doped with Eu2+ alone. The synthesized green-emitting phosphors using carbon sheet showed much better crystallization as well as higher emission intensity. The emission spectra showed a typically broad green emission band attributed to the 5d→4f transition of Eu2+ ions under excitation at 420 nm. This phosphor is expected to be suitable to a wide range of quickly growing applications, and could be a promising phosphor for white LEDs.
