Dye sensitized solar cell using polymer electrolytes based on poly(ethylene oxide) with an ionic liquid

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Polymer electrolytes were prepared by doping PEO:KI/I2 with an ionic liquid (IL) 1-ethyl 3-methylimidazolium thiocyanate (EMImSCN). FTIR confirmed composite nature while X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement affirmed the reduction in crystallinity, when IL was added. The ionic conductivity was improved by the addition of IL. The photoelectrochemical effect of the IL-doping in the terms of the current density Jsc and efficiency of a dye sensitized solar cells (DSSC) has also been discussed.
