N2 - In this paper, in order to using interleaved boost converter (IBC) at discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) for electric vehicles (EVs), the variation of phase current and input current ripple are analyzed theoretically. Also, based on the detailed analysis, numerical formula of input current ripple is deduced including three criterions: rising and falling slope magnitude, D, and DA. Moreover, using the numerical formula, optimized inductance that makes input current to zero is deducted. In order to verify analysis, simulation and experimental results are compared with theoretical data and validity of proposed theory is established.
