Abstract
The heterocyclic scaffolds are common motifs found in various synthetic molecules with interesting biological activities. This chapter presents a comprehensive overview on the topic of site-selective C7-H bond functionalization at the C7-position on the indoline's arene ring under various transition metal catalysts. It is classified by the nature of reactivity of various coupling partners (such as alkenes, alkynes, carbonyl compounds, diazo esters, herero, isocyanates, organic azides, organic salts, and etc.) at the C7-position of indolines. Additionally, the chapter also describes the substrate scopes and limitations, proposed reaction mechanisms, and applications of synthesized C7-H bond functionalized indolic scaffolds. Acyl-containing molecules have attracted much attention of the chemist due to their potential biological activities, pharmaceutical significance, presence in natural products, use in agrochemicals and wide application in other functional materials.
