N2 - To ensure competitiveness in today's automotive market, a growing emphasis is laid on collaboration of disparate engineering activities in manufacturing of an automotive industry. By applying digital virtual manufacturing, diverse engineering activities such as design evaluation, process & material planning, production flow analysis and ergonomic analysis can be brought together to be performed in a single integrated model, digital virtual factory. In this paper, we suggested a procedure, consideration and expected effects for paint shop of automotive company. So, we constructed a digital virtual factory of paint shop for an automotive company. By applying digital virtual factory to manufacturing engineering, it is expected that this digital virtual factory is useful for achieving time and cost saving in many manufacturing engineering work in planning and new product development processes.
