Abstract

The conditional-capture flip-flop (CCFF) technique for statistical power reduction was discussed. This technique eliminates unnecessary transitions to minimize power without effecting the speed. The simulated waveforms of the flip-flops shows data dependent transition characteristics of CCFF technique. The results show that the precharge nodes in CCFF technique have transitions during the output charge which reduces the power consumption.
