Abstract

LiNbO3 single crystals grown by the micro pulling down (μ‐PD) method have been revealed to be as free of dislocations and subgrain boundaries up to 500 μm in diameter. On the other hand, μ‐PD LiNbO3 single crystals grown along the x‐axis in diameter of 800 μm were observed to be dislocated due to the size effect of crystal. The Burgers vectors of dislocations were determined to be [2201], [1011], and [0111] by X‐ray topography.
