Abstract

CR-39 polymer was processed with ArF laser. Conical microstructures formed on laser-ablated CR-39. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy were employed for examination of the morphology and chemical composition of irradiated surface and conical structure. SEM observation show that cone shape walls are sharp tips together with interference and well defined fringe-structure around cone base. EDX analysis indicated that cone having different chemical structure compared to surface of CR-39 polymer.
