Abstract

This paper investigates the Transfer Torque Characteristics of Magnetic Geared Machines (MGM) using Frozen Permeability(FP) Method. In order to accurately separate the PM and armature fields and hence the transfer torque capacity accounting for the magnetic saturation, the FPM on finite element method is employed. By using this proposed method, the analysis flow for MGM is presented and the transfer torque characteristics of MGM is analyzed according to the pole pair combination.
