Adrenal gland

Abstract

Incidental solid adrenal masses are not uncommon in daily practice. The adrenal glands are routinely scanned on every computed tomography (CT) scan or magnetic resonance (MR) image of the abdomen and chest. Although various diseases involve the adrenal gland, almost all adrenal lesions detected are benign in patients without a history of malignancy. Therefore, the diagnostic approach to adrenal lesions in these patients should not be as aggressive as those in oncologic patients.
