Abstract

In this paper, a novel side-peak removal scheme is proposed for unambiguous cosinephased Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) signal tracking. We first design two novel locally-generated signals, and then, we obtain cross-correlations by correlating each of the locally-generated signals and the received signal, respectively. Finally, we combine the cross-correlations to yield a correlation function with no sidepeaks. The proposed scheme can remove any ambiguity in cosine-phased BOC signal tracking. In numerical results, we compare tracking performances based on Tracking Error Standard Deviation (TESD) values of the proposed and conventional correlation functions, and it is confirmed that the proposed correlation function provides a better TESD performance than the conventional correlation functions.
