Abstract

This paper presents a configurable gateway for in-vehicle networks. The proposed gateway software has two independent parts: the gateway functional modules (message reception, routing, and transmission) and the configuration files (network information and rules for message routing). Configuration files are generated by a GUI (graphical user interface)-based software tool. The configurable gateway architecture allows car makers to reuse their gateway functional modules, reducing development time and costs.
