6G Single and 2x2 MIMO Antennas Design using Substrate Integrated Waveguide Technology

Abstract

In this paper, 6G single and 2x2 MIMO slot antennas are designed in the substrate integrated waveguide technology. The antenna consists of an SIW cavity that is fed by an SIW line and a rectangular slot is carved in the upper metal layer of the cavity. A waveguide-PCB cavity is integrated with the single antenna and prototype of the integrated antenna is measured. The antenna yields -10 dB impedance bandwidth of 15.2% with a peak gain of 8.33 dBi. The radiation patterns are also measured and discussed. The proposed antenna was extended to design two configurations of the 2x2 MIMO antenna and simulated results are presented.
