Abstract
The reaction of MnCl2 and glutaric acid in aqueous solution affords a new 3D Mn-glutarate with an empirical formula of Mn3(H 2O)[CO2(CH2)3CO2] 3 (1). The structure of 1 contains honeycomb-type 12 membered Mn-O-Mn networks of MnO6 octahedra and interconnecting Mn-O-C-O-Mn bridging resulting in magnetic interaction below 3 K.
